One Life Health and Wellness

Being well-informed prior to making any healthcare decision is crucial. Guided by knowledge, One Life Health and Wellness empowers you to make informed health decisions. Delve into the world of semaglutide and tirzepatide, and how we can assist you in self-administering these weight management medications via telehealth. Let's embark on your health and wellness journey.

Understanding Semaglutide

Semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, is utilized for weight management. It mimics the hormone GLP-1, regulating blood sugar and reducing appetite. Semaglutide is administered once weekly via a subcutaneous injection. One Life Health and Wellness tailor your dosage to your individual needs. Semaglutide, when paired with a healthy diet and exercise, has shown impressive results in clinical trials, including weight reduction and improved health markers like blood pressure and cholesterol.

Exploring Tirzepatide

Another key player in weight management is tirzepatide. Acting as a dual glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and GLP-1 receptor agonist, it also helps in regulating blood sugar and reducing appetite. Like semaglutide, tirzepatide is administered weekly via a subcutaneous injection. Our team determines your tailored dosage based on your specific needs and responses. Clinical research have proven that when fused with a healthy diet and exercise, tirzepatide has shown superior weight loss results compared to other weight management medications.

Self-Injection Guide

Drawing medication from a multi-dose vial and self-injecting requires careful steps to ensure safety and effectiveness. Here's a step-by-step guide for drawing semaglutide or tirzepatide from a multi-dose vial using an insulin needle, followed by instructions for self-injection. It's crucial to follow your healthcare provider's instructions and refer to the medication's instructions as well.

Steps

Drawing Semaglutide/Tirzepatide from a Multi-Dose Vial:

Materials Needed:

- Multi-dose vial of semaglutide or tirzepatide

- Insulin syringe with needle

- Alcohol swabs

- Sharps disposal container

Steps:

  • Wash Your Hands: Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water to reduce the risk of contamination.
  • Prepare the Vial: Remove the vial from the refrigerator if required (check medication instructions) and allow it to reach room temperature to minimize discomfort during injection.
  • Clean the Rubber Stopper: Wipe the rubber stopper on top of the vial with an alcohol swab to sterilize it. Allow it to air dry.
  • Prepare the Syringe: Remove the syringe from its sterile packaging. If the needle is not attached, attach it securely to the syringe.
  • Air Bubble Introduction: Draw air into the syringe by pulling back the plunger to the dose you will be injecting. This helps prevent creating a vacuum in the vial.
  • Pierce the Vial: Insert the needle through the center of the vial's rubber stopper.
  • Inject Air into the Vial: Push the plunger down to inject air into the vial. This equalizes the pressure, making it easier to withdraw the medication.
  • Invert the Vial: With the needle still in the vial, turn the vial upside down. Ensure the needle's tip is below the liquid level to draw the medication without introducing air.
  • Draw the Medication: Pull back the plunger to fill the syringe with the required dose of medication. Check for air bubbles; gently tap the syringe and push the plunger slightly to release any air.
  • Remove the Syringe: Once the correct dose is in the syringe, remove the needle from the vial, holding the syringe needle-up to prevent leaks.
  • Choose the Injection Site: Common sites include the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Rotate sites with each injection to prevent tissue damage.
  • Clean the Injection Site: Use an alcohol swab to clean the skin at the injection site. Allow the area to air dry.
  • Remove Air Bubbles: Check the syringe for air bubbles one last time, removing any if necessary.
  • Inject the Medication: Pinch the skin lightly to form a fold. Insert the needle at a 90-degree angle (or as instructed by your healthcare provider). Release the skin fold and push the plunger slowly to inject the medication.
  • Withdraw the Needle: Once the medication is fully injected, remove the needle at the same angle it was inserted. Press a clean cotton ball or gauze over the site if there is any bleeding.
  • Dispose of the Needle and Syringe: Place the used needle and syringe in a sharps disposal container. Never reuse syringes or needles.
  • Aftercare: Apply a bandage if there is any bleeding. Monitor the site for signs of infection or adverse reactions and report any concerns to your healthcare provider.
